Welcome to the Thinking Healer Blog
By Dr. Abhijeet G. Shinde
When I began writing as the Thinking Healer, I wanted to create a place where medicine, philosophy, and humanity could meet. Over time, this blog has grown into different streams of thought — each with its own focus, but all connected by the same spirit: making sense of health and life in a deeper, clearer way.
Here’s how the blog is organized:
Health Decoded
Medicine is full of jargon, acronyms, and intimidating explanations. Here, I try to strip all that away. I take complex conditions, tests, or treatments and break them into simple, understandable language. This space is for patients and families who want clarity without confusion. My goal is simple: health literacy, without the fear.
Medisophy (Medicine + Philosophy)
I believe medicine is not just a science of the body but also a philosophy of knowing. In this section, I explore the deeper side of medicine: uncertainty, reasoning, ethics, and the meaning of healing itself. It’s where clinical logic meets timeless questions — where a stethoscope sits beside Socrates.
Physician Insights
Being a doctor is not only about diagnosis and treatment — it’s also about what we observe, feel, and learn along the way. Here I share my personal reflections from practice: the dilemmas, the lessons, and sometimes the quiet revelations. These are honest notes from the frontlines of medicine.
Praxis and Policy
Policies and guidelines look neat on paper. But in real clinics and hospitals, the story is different. This section is about that gap: how insurance, government rules, and healthcare systems actually affect patients and doctors in practice. I call it “praxis” — because here, ideals meet messy reality.
HumanDoc
Behind every white coat is a human being. In this space, I write about the human side of being a doctor: compassion, fatigue, burnout, resilience, and the search for meaning. It’s my reminder — to myself and to readers — that medicine is not just science, but also soul.
TechCare
Technology is transforming medicine faster than ever. From AI to apps to wearables, everything promises change. But what is really gained, and what might we lose? In TechCare, I explore these questions honestly, without hype. The future of medicine is exciting — but it must also stay human.
Living Well / Lifeology
Some questions go beyond clinics and hospitals — they touch life itself. This category is my space to reflect on wellness, meaning, memory, and the art of living thoughtfully. It’s where science and philosophy meet daily life. Health, after all, is not just the absence of disease — it’s the presence of depth.
Patient Voices
Patients are not just cases; they are stories. In this section, I share their voices — sometimes in their own words, sometimes with my reflections. These narratives remind us that medicine is always about people, not just pathologies. Listening is the first act of healing.
